The Lost World By Michael Crichton

I saw the Jurassic Park movies when I was a very little girl, and I always thought they were very scary (I still have nightmares about being chased by a t-rex) and thrilling. Though the movies was very good, this book was even better than I had expected. Every page thrilled me! As I read this book at night, I'd keep promising myself "okay, I'll stop after the end of the chapter", but instead, Michael Crichton would leave me begging for me, and I'd continue reading into the wee hours of dawn. Anyone who loves science fiction should consider this book... even if they've already seen the Jurassic Park movies.

Reason: It took almost two hundred pages for the story to even begin! Also, there were some unexplained happenings. Otherwise, it was a brilliant book!
