The House of Night

This was a great book! Stars: *****
Interesting and Addictive. Stars:*****
Pushes the envelope a bit. Stars:**** 1/2

Untamed was written with great talent, mixing Cherokee legend with vampire lore.
Stars: *****
This was a good book, but I'm kinda getting sick of house of night. It's just the same thing every book. Cussing, sex, violence... cussing, sex, violence... and then every guy is in love with the same girl so the authors are obviously trying to copy Twilight. It's a good book, I'm just getting kinda sick of vampires. I'll give it a fair score anyway.
Grade: 84%
Have yet to read.

My Denver Trip October 2009

These are some of my friends. Their sisters (as you can probably see).

While in Denver, I went to the performing arts center and saw the play "Wicked". It was a beautifully performed play that made me laugh and cry. I was fortunate enough to see it twice!
These are some more of my friends.
This was a group picture of some of my friends/clients. We went out to dinner at P F Chang's and had a blast!

Friends!!!

This is Jessica Williams. She's a great artist and has a unique sense of style.

Jack Stafford and Me! He's so nice, but I only get to see him in the summer.

Allison Balcom wearing the hat I knit for her! She is a great person to talk to and always has something funny to say.

Silver Coin

Silver Coin
By Taylor Kristine

I had a little silver coin,
Which caught my eye one day,
I found it on the road of life,
All smooth and hard and gray,
I put it in my pocket,
And stroked it with a dirty hand,
The coin it then sang to me,
About a distant land,
I took the coin home,
And showed it to my mother,
But she couldn't hear it sing,
And thought it to be the same as any other.

At night I lay beside the coin,
Watching the moonlight on it's side,
The way it sang so softly to me,
Just like a flowing tide,
And there in the darkness,
I could hear it breathe,
It's little life was priceless to me,
And helped me to believe,
My parents wondered about the coin,
And told me it was bad,
But I couldn't let that in,
For my heart was mad.

Through trials which beat upon my fragile life,
The coin stayed by my side,
It's light weight,
Taking, in my pocket, a ride,
I kept its existence to myself,
And told no one about it,
This free living, singing coin,
Or else they'd surely doubt it,
And then one day upon the shore,
It taught me how to sing,
To open up my heart,
And let it from from out of my lips ring,
I sang of love and friendship,
Of trials in the past,
Of memories with my dear silver coin,
Which would surely last.

After many years with the coin,
I began to grow really old,
My soul began to change,
And my heart become real cold,
I hid alone in shadows,
With nothing but this small chunk of silver,
I was ruined by the world,
With cold that no longer made me shiver,
Knives had been stabbed inside me,
Thrust down into my heart,
Blood came from these wounds,
And pulled me apart,
I became a lone person,
Looking for a reason to live,
But deep down inside,
I was searching for a way to forgive.

I hid in darkness during the day,
And stalked the streets at night,
I killed those who challenged me,
And feared nothing but the light,
My singing voice was not hear often,
And had become very deep,
By now the coin was silent,
Even in it's usually musical sleep,
I missed the coins singing,
And wished for it's voice again,
But the coin was invisible to my eyes,
And it's song I did not gain,
I wished more than anything,
To see it's shining beauty,
For now I felt to hear it again,
Was more than just a duty.

As I wept, life went on,
In its own boring way,
These once sapphire blue eyes,
Had now turned to gray,
But I was afraid it couldn't hear me,
For it had surely died,
It's soul had been washed away,
Just like a moon's tide,
I knew it was me,
Who had killed it,
I wouldn't be able to live with the loss,
Though I did try to repent,
The coin stayed inside my pocket,
Now duller than a rock,
It's silver shine had gone away,
And it's stony hue a mock.

Every time I looked at the silver coin,
My heart began to ache,
The scars gouged into soul,
Began to bleed and quake,
The tears came and fell upon,
The coin's dead face,
And I felt as if,
I were a horrible disgrace,
The next night I had decided,
To let the poor coin go,
Down into the depths of the sea,
Down to the world below.

At night I walked out on the shore,
And down the ramp to the dock,
I stared at the face of the silver coin,
Which shone just like a rock,
Forgive me, I pleaded,
As I felt it's hardness against my skin,
Forgive me for killing you,
Forgive me for this horrible sin,
And then I let the silver coin drop,
For seconds through mid-air,
It barely made a splash as it hit the water,
And didn't have a shining glare.

I wiped the tears from my cheeks,
And began to walk away,
But then I heard a voice behind me,
Bidding me to stay,
I turned to see who had spoken,
When I saw his face,
More serene than a god,
And filled with peaceful grace,
His hair was like moonlight,
While his eyes were endless pools,
His words came from his heart,
And seemed to fix my broken soul with tools,
I wondered who he was but then,
Saw around his neck,
A thin silver chain with a coin,
As silver as heck,
I knew who he was then,
And knew it had to be sure,
For this man was the voice of my silver coin,
Which I was with no more.

He didn't have to say a word,
For I knew what he was,
An angel come to save my heart,
To show me what music was,
And so I came to the angel,
Right there in the night,
His eyes were warm and friendly,
Though his hair was moonlight,
Stay with me I said,
And asked him to forgive,
His mouth curved up into a smile,
And said he would, with me, forever live.

And so, I found a friend,
One to rely on through hard times,
Who sang to when I needed it most,
And told me the world was made of mimes,
He told me about the future,
And how we were meant to be,
How we could exist together,
Just like the stars and sea,
I believed every word he said,
And continued to feel his love,
And one day we had a family,
Which would exist even in the above,
For eternity we lived on together,
Remembering how we met,
For I knew now the reason to live,
And I will never forget.
